Superior Ambulance Celebrates 18 New EMTs in Michigan

SOUTHFIELD, MI — On Thursday evening, Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service of Michigan, Inc. and its affiliate, Life Support Training Institute (LSTI), hosted a graduation ceremony to celebrate 18 new emergency medical technician (EMT) graduates from LSTI’s Southfield training facility.

Each graduate has accepted a full-time position with Superior Ambulance, ensuring their training will immediately benefit communities across the region.

“At Superior Ambulance, we are dedicated to building strong career pipelines in emergency medical services by recruiting, training, and promoting talent right here in the Detroit region,” said Kim Godden, Vice President of Superior Ambulance. “This investment creates local opportunity and builds the skilled emergency workforce Michigan needs. These graduates are launching careers that will make a lasting impact.”

The ceremony was a reminder of the vital role these graduates will play as they bring their skills and dedication to Michigan’s EMS workforce.

Since March 2024, Superior and LSTI have bolstered Michigan’s emergency response capabilities through this workforce development initiative, whereby they train, equip, and hire local residents for critical EMS roles, helping strengthen emergency care across the state.

Michigan State Representative Brenda Carter (D-53) attended the graduation and applauded Superior Ambulance and LSTI for expanding access to EMS career pathways while strengthening Michigan’s emergency response capacity.

“By investing in local training and creating a clear pathway to employment, Superior Ambulance and LSTI are strengthening our emergency response system while opening real career opportunities for Michigan residents,” said Rep. Carter.

Through its “Earn to Learn” program developed as part of its mission to grow homegrown talent and build a strong, community-based EMS workforce, Superior Ambulance guarantees employment to all graduates upon successful EMT certification. Once hired, full-time employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement to advance their education, an incentive designed to reduce barriers to entry and support long-term career growth in EMS.
