HIGHLAND, INDIANA — On Wednesday July 29, Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service of Indiana, Inc. and its affiliate, Life Support Training Institute (LSTI), hosted a graduation ceremony to celebrate two EMT classes, for a total of 30 new emergency medical technician (EMT) graduates at Superior Ambulance’s Highland Station in Indiana.
Several graduates will pursue dual licensure in Indiana and Illinois, enabling them to provide care in either state.
“We are committed to building strong career pipelines in emergency medical services (EMS) by recruiting, training, and promoting talent right here in our community,” said Kim Godden, Vice President of Superior Ambulance. “Programs like this create meaningful career opportunities while ensuring community members in Indiana have skilled emergency medical personnel. These graduates are beginning careers that will serve Indiana for years to come.”

Indiana State Senator Ed Charbonneau (R-5) and Illinois State Representative Thaddeus Jones (D-29) attended the ceremony and joined Superior Ambulance leadership in congratulating the graduates and highlighting their importance in expanding the region’s EMS workforce.
“Emergency medical professionals are an essential part of Indiana’s health care system,” said Sen. Ed Charbonneau (R-5). “Programs like Superior Ambulance’s EMT training help strengthen the workforce and bring more stability and comfort to communities across Indiana.”
“Every community needs skilled emergency medical professionals ready to answer the call when seconds matter,” said Rep. Thaddeus Jones (D-29) “Today’s graduates have chosen careers of service, compassion, and a commitment to make a real difference for patients across the state.”
The new EMTs take an EMS oath at the graduation.
Through its “Earn to Learn” program developed as part of its mission to grow homegrown talent and build a strong, community-based EMS workforce, Superior Ambulance offers employment to graduates upon successful EMT certification. Once hired, full-time employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement to advance their education, an incentive designed to reduce barriers to entry and support long-term career growth in EMS.
